We were talking yesterday about what we will consider Kaitlynn’s ‘Gotcha Day’. Evidently, in the adoption world, that is the date recognized as the adoption day, kinda like a birthday.
Today? It could be. We will stand in the court. They will tell us of this precious girl. We will say yes! Then we will meet her where she is living. WE WILL MEET HER!!!
Then again, we don’t have her in our home until the second court date. I am more leaning towards making the ‘Gotcha Day’ that date when she comes home with us. (btw – wish I knew what that date was going be. we don’t yet. won’t ’til next week, probably.)
The final court date is when the adoption is legalized. That will take place two or three weeks after the second court date. That might be the ‘Gotcha Day’.
Of the four kids I have now three of them have birth dates that I helped plan. Two inductions and a cesarean. My fifth child already has a birthday. Now we just need to figure out the Gotcha Day. You know, though, I just had an idea. Maybe we can just make May the Gotcha Month. Yes, I think I like that idea.

Reader, you might be wondering how I am doing right now. I am so happy! You might be wondering how DaRonn and the kids are doing. They seem good. The kids want to meet her. We are still figuring out how that is going to work. Probably today in the afternoon, or maybe tomorrow.

Song going through my head since I woke at 5:30 AM: Joe Cockers “Love is For Me” from his album Hymn for My Soul, which, interestingly enough, and I didn’t know this until this morning, was released on May 13 of ’08.
Skin so soft
Smile so blue
It’s all these things, I see in you
Heart so warm
Mind so clear
It’s things like this, I see in you my dear
I believe everything about you baby
(I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe)
So many things in you to apreciate
Like an impatient child I can hardly wait
My fount of love is going round
Because of you girl I’m so proud
It don’t matter how foolish I might sound
It would be the most senseless having you around
I believe everything about you baby
(I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe)
Love is for me
You ought to be
Right here in my loving arms
Please don’t you wait
Don’t hestitate
Turn on your living charms
Turn ‘em on little mama
Give me your loving baby
I don’t mean to impose on you
…what else could I do
Help me climb the mountain of success
The cliffs that lead to our happiness
I believe everything about you baby
(I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe)
Love is for me
You ought to be
Right in my loving arms
Please don’t you wait
Don’t hestitate
Turn on your living charms
Right now baby
Your love is for me
I believe everything about you baby
I can hardly wait baby
And you know that love is for me
Love is for me…

I sent the kids to school with notes for their teachers that they will not be going to school tomorrow. They were happy about that. Not so much rush in the morning Friday after a predictably exhausting (good exhausting) day today.
Pictures to come…

Angie I am so happy for you, I can only imagine the way you feel, it is like at the end of a pregnancy with so much expectation and anxiety to have your little one in your arms. I know you’ve looked forward to this for a long time. May the Lord bless you with Joy and may your family be blessed by the presence of this little God-sent.
Abrazos♥
So excited for you, and waiting to hear!
LOVED the Joe Crocker lyrics. Will be hunting that one down for my iPod! And how groovy cool that it was released 2 years ago on this very day!!!! That’s a crazy faith girl kind of fact that you’ll remember forever!!
You’ve been on my mind all day…I’m hoping it all went well!
Big, BIG hugs!

Angie, I’ve been thinking about you off and on all day! I’ve been excited right along with you.
So, how did you sleep last night?
I’ve never heard the song, but it sounds perfect.
I like your idea of a Gotcha Day too.
