Trail Mix

By @ngie

Now, on with the nutty, mixed-up, crunchy, munchy life I lead…

  • DaRonn is back from Panama. Yay! He brought me some fun coffees. I have a veritable International Coffee House now. Yum!
  • The kids DO NOT have swine flu. Not that I was worried about it. Although, there have been 15 cases reported in Cochabamba. They just have common colds.
  • Talking about Pete and Repeat over here today:

  • Took the kids to see Up! last week. We enjoyed it very much.
  • My mom got back from her trip to France. So cool!
  • Since it is winter break I took the kids for a hike / climb at Tunari national park. They had a blast.
  • Finished reading ‘Jane Eyre’. Surprisingly delightful book by Charlotte Bronte.
  • Working on sketches for the next group of paintings to load here at the @.
  • Did you know I was a bicentennial baby? Do you know what that means? Well, it means that I was born the year that the United States celebrated 200 years of independence. So it is always easy for me to know how old the U.S. is. Our grand old flag has been flying for 233 years this 2,009th year of our Lord.
  • My dad has his birthday the day after July fourth. He was born in 1950. So it is easy to figure out how old he is, too.
  • My niece was born the day after my dad’s birthday. She is 3 this year.
  • I shall end with an Independence Day joke:

Q: How many nations have a Fourth of July?

A: All of them! (get it?)

That is really the only Independence Day joke that I know. Anyone else got any more?

Ooohh…sketching! Sounds like fun. I should get my pencils out tomorrow.

We went to the Summer Arts Festival and I was able to purchase a lovely original watercolor painting. Made me itch for some serious art time.

Enjoy your coffees (and your hubby!).

:-)

About

On this journey of life, sharing my existence with God’s wonderful creation, there is nothing that thrills my heart more than knowing that my moments drip with purpose and destiny.

Oh sure, there are the dull and uninteresting tasks that we all have to do, but mixed up in there with all the ‘have-to’ there is a wealth of ‘get-to’ that drives my being. (more...)
