500 DRAWING!

by @ngie on July 30, 2009

This is the 500th time I have put pen to paper (albeit figuratively) to pose an entry at the @.

Since the end of 2006, whence the blogosphere was first made known to me, I have been an avid blogger. The composing, following, reading, commenting and all over creative process is so fun to me. I am not ashamed to say that it is one of my favorite hobbies.

Enough about me, though. Since my readers are so dear to me as a “thank you” I am hosting a drawing here at the @.

The winners of the “@ngie 500″ contest will be announced after the 5,000th comment has been logged. It is not too far away, friends. Since we are on the 500 theme I will just say we are less than 500 comments away from the 5,000th.

ENTER TO WIN: Entry is easy. Just leave a comment here at the @. Every comment counts as an entry starting from when I publish this post. (Facebook comments on this note will not be considered valid entries – sorry. Only comments left at www.angiewashington.com.)

When 5,000 comments are reached all the names will be put into a hat. For every comment you make I will put your name on a piece of paper to enter into the drawing, so don’t forget to sign in or sign your comment. Multiple entries are welcome and encouraged.

I will be drawing out five names to win. Five is my favorite number and I am just loving the saturation of fives on this post! Oh, in case you are wondering you win as many times as your name is drawn. Also, family can enter and win, too.

PRIZES: I am giving away five go green shopping bags made from recycled Bolivian plastic. They are like the ones featured in my Saturday Market vlog and in the slide show of the shoe donation on the House of Dreams blog. Green is my favorite color so I am just loving giving away these ‘go green’ bags.

If you win I will ship the prize to you anywhere you are in the world!

Here is a snap shot of one of the bags:

Good luck to you all!

Wow! I’ve left a LOT of comments over the years! I sure hope that I win one of those beautiful bags!

Will probably see your dear hubby in the morning!

Oh…and these are the bags that Kathy says we should try selling as part of our next bag sell. Are they reasonable?? I too think they are WAY cool bags (I remember them from the shoe party! and I was slightly drooling!).

I too use way to many!!! But maybe it’s part of my passionate personality that just wants to LEAP off the page to send a smile and a hug!!

That’s a long comment…maybe it should count for 2??!?

Big, big hugs!

Livvy Lu – Yes, your comment action is unprecedented here at the @.

The bag in the picture here cost like 12 or 15 bs… something like that. Divide by 7 and you are paying like 2 bucks a bag. There are some super snazzy ones made out of the same recycled plastic by a great company called Tote le Monde here. They make have nylon shoulder length straps and extra zipper pockets. I would have to check but I think they go for like $20 a bag. They have bunches of sizes too. So some are a tad bit cheaper and I think they have some that go for like 40 bucks. Ok, I am just rambling now… There are some ideas swimming in my mind that I need to flesh out…

I hope you are well!

Oh do flesh out those swimming ideas! I think having a new variety of bags will help them sell EVEN better! But definitely the grocery bags…you’d be surprised as I REALLY think they would sell very nicely at 8-10 dollars per bag!! And the other ones sound fun too…but we need the profit margin to be high enough to be worth the effort of getting them here and then selling them! :o )

Am well…but have a lingering coffee from my visit with you. If it goes away then I won’t have that little piece of Bolivia still with me, will I??!?

Congratulations on the 500 posts, Angie! I’m wondering now, why is 5 your favorite number? Do things happen in fives a lot for you?

Thanks, Becky!

Well, 5 has pretty much always been my favorite number. It is just so practical, convenient, simple and unencumbered. I was the oldest of five kids growing up. DaRonn and I have always talked about having 5 kids. Five fingers on each hand, five toes on each foot. Lists of five are manageable yet substantial. Just a good number. :-)

You’ve got lots of entries so far… it is all the comments, on any post (past, present and future) from the time of the posting of this post. And we still have a bit of a ways to go. I will keep blogging as normal… y’all can keep commenting as normal (or more than normal if you like) and get multiple entries in the drawing.

I want one of those bags!!! I think it’s safe to say that I’m a bag-addict… love em’… and love things from other parts of the world- so those bags… are PERFECT :)

As of yesterday- I’ve got internet at home again (whoop whoop!!). Let’s just hope it lasts. I’ve missed being away from blogesphere and from keeping up this way. You’ve been missed- and I love what you’ve done with your site!!

I have some friends here who are bag-addicts and they adore these ones.

Thanks for the sweet compliments!

How fun!

I was going to comment on your “timeframe” post, but for some reason there’s no comment box?? Anyway, the chart looks about right to me! Your longest wait will probably be getting the court to just give you a hearing date. This year there’s a substantial weight compared to other years. Hang in there!!

(A 3 1/2 year old girl of ours is also veryyyy close to assignment. Who knows?! Well God does, thankfully!)
